Acclaimed gospel singer Nioka Grant made her debut by releasing her first single ‘The Blood Covered It All’ back on November 14th which was produced by Andre Paul Wright an details the singer’s journey as a born-again-Christian.
“What inspired me to do the song was simply because of my love for God. Just thinking about His mercies and His love for us. It blows my mind! I was also encouraged by a friend, Itego Banner, to actually do the song. I was a bit reserved, but I went in faith,” Grant said in an interview with the Jamaica Observer.
“The song is definitely coming from a deep, personal experience in my Christian journey. So many times I have fallen and failed God miserably, but he keeps running after me just the same. His goodness doesn’t change, and His love remains unconditional. He loves a sinner just like me, unworthy though I be.”
“I have done many covers of other songs on my YouTube page, but this is my first official release” she said.
Grant got baptized at the age of nine and her journey is evident throughout the song.
“I decided to be a Christian, simply put, because I love God with my whole heart” Grant explained.
“He has blessed me immensely with this gift of singing and I am so happy to use it for Him. My musical journey has had its ups and downs. It can be challenging at times, but when you remember your purpose God has given you in the Earth, the journey gets easier. Sometimes to find the right songs is not easy, it really comes from a place of a true relationship with God, and He will inspire your heart with the right songs to sing at the right time. But my journey is also filled with many valuable lessons I learnt. I am grateful to be on this journey and my intention is to bless the hearts of others through my ministry by the power of the Holy Spirit,”
Grant also discussed the feedback she has received from the song thus far.
“The feedback is very positive” says Grant. “People have shared it social media, they also commented to say they are really blessed by the message in the song and how they are proud of me. However, I want to improve on my musical skills, while becoming a successful singer, while building more on my online presence
